Iraqi Central Bank Confirms Dinar Abundance

The Director General of Statistics and Research at the Central Bank of Iraq, Samir Fakhri Neama, confirmed on Tuesday that the bank's vaults are fully stocked with dinars. Speaking during the Meri 2026 Forum in Erbil, Neama stated that it is never permissible to claim the Central Bank lacks dinars. He added that exchange rate adjustments impact the poor but not as severely as expected, since the state will support a range of commodities, noting that price hikes will remain far below the change rate. He concluded that the bank's reserves are comfortable, urging dinar transactions to reduce dollar reliance.
