Iraqi Ali Ammar Claims Snatch Gold, Breaks World Record at Nagoya Asiad

Iraqi weightlifter Ali Ammar achieved a remarkable sporting feat on Tuesday, securing the gold medal in the snatch event during the weightlifting competitions at the "Nagoya Asiad" Asian Games. Ammar successfully lifted 219 kilograms, thereby breaking the previous world record in this event. This triumph followed an exceptional performance by Ammar, where he outperformed his rivals among the continent's top weightlifters, adding a new gold medal that enhances Iraq's sports record in international arenas. This accomplishment is attributed to the intensive preparations undergone by the Iraqi weightlifter, supervised by national team coach Ammar Yasser, in addition to continuous support provided by the Iraqi National Olympic Committee.
