Iraq Seeks Global Openness and Policy Coordination from New York Through PM's Initiatives

The Iraqi government spokesperson, Haider Al-Aboudi, affirmed on Wednesday Iraq's commitment to a significant program for coordinating international positions and fostering cooperation opportunities, noting the numerous meetings held by Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi in New York to secure common interests. Al-Aboudi clarified, in statements to the official agency, that Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi's participation in the opening sessions of the United Nations General Assembly aimed to underscore Iraq's standing as a crucial partner with regional and global economic weight. He stated that Iraq, after listening to the proposals of world leaders, adopts its own vision for formulating solutions, relying on these solutions to ensure the stability of energy supplies and the region. This stance is built upon legal and constitutional constants centered on the principle of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of states. Iraq actively seeks to adopt a program designed to coordinate positions and provide cooperation opportunities, thereby transcending areas of disagreement, conflict, and complexity towards realms of cooperation and integration to achieve stability. He further indicated that the principle espoused by the Prime Minister, in his capacity as Iraq's representative at the UN General Assembly, reflects the essence of the state's vision and the government's program for addressing and managing crises and coordinating stances effectively. Al-Aboudi emphasized that the Iraqi government is highly committed to regional stability and works in close coordination with regional and international partners to formulate all possible solutions that contribute to de-escalating tensions. He pointed out that the region constitutes the largest oil basin and a primary source for supplying the global market with crude oil, with Iraq holding a pivotal position in this vital market. He reported that Iraq pursues a policy based on mutual interests and respect for state sovereignty, striving to be an active part in shaping solutions and avoiding, as much as possible, positions that do not serve the region and the world. He elaborated that the Prime Minister held a series of meetings in New York with leaders of Arab and foreign countries, including the King of Jordan, the Crown Prince of Kuwait, and several foreign heads of state, in addition to the Director of the United Nations Development Program. These joint meetings aimed at coordinating positions, as Iraq embraces a principle of openness and carries a message of global trust, striving to achieve common interests and continuous cooperation.
