Iraq, Kuwait Establish Joint Working Group to Resolve Pending Files Within 30 Days

Iraq and Kuwait issued a joint statement to strengthen bilateral relations and resolve outstanding issues, emphasizing brotherhood, good neighborliness, and common interests. This agreement emerged from a meeting between Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi and Kuwait's Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, during the 81st UN General Assembly in New York. A joint statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office confirmed both sides agreed to form a joint Iraqi-Kuwaiti working team. This team will review pending files, develop a resolution roadmap, and submit joint recommendations to both leaderships within thirty days. The team's meetings will alternate continuously between Baghdad and Kuwait until its work is completed. Both parties pledged full support for the team's mission, aiming to finalize outstanding issues and initiate a new phase of cooperation and partnership, benefiting both Iraqi and Kuwaiti peoples.
