Iraq's Ministry of Trade announced the conclusion of the wheat marketing season in ten governorates, while marketing operations continue in a number of northern and western governorates. Haidar Nouri Al-Karaawi, Director General of the General Company for Grain Trading, stated in a press release to the official news agency that the quantities of wheat received amounted to 3 million and 194 thousand tons across all governorates, with the exception of the Kurdistan Region, where receipt of the crop began yesterday, and work is ongoing to receive further quantities. He added that marketing operations ceased yesterday in nine southern governorates, in addition to Baghdad, bringing the total number of governorates where marketing has been halted to ten. Meanwhile, reception operations are still ongoing in eight governorates, including Anbar, Diyala, and other northern and western regions. Al-Karaawi clarified that marketing operations will cease in Diyala and Salah al-Din governorates in the coming days, while reception will continue in Kirkuk and Nineveh governorates, in addition to the three northern governorates of the Kurdistan Region. He also noted a Cabinet decision stipulating the receipt of quantities outside the planned quota, confirming that these quantities have indeed been received, with marketing operations continuing in accordance with this decision.
