Iraq and Saudi Foreign Ministers Stress De-escalation and Return to Regional Dialogue Path
Iraq's Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed on Tuesday the importance of containing the current escalation in the region and returning to the path of negotiations and constructive dialogue. This came during a phone call where the two sides discussed regional developments amidst increasing tensions and the serious potential repercussions on the security and stability of the region's nations. Both parties emphasized the necessity of joint action to contain the escalation and return to a peaceful negotiation and dialogue path to address differences, with the aim of preventing the widening scope of tension and its negative impacts on regional security and overall stability. For his part, Minister Hussein underscored the importance of continuous coordination and consultation between the two fraternal countries, in addition to ongoing coordination with relevant states regarding all regional developments.
