The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Sunday, September 13, 2026, that Iraq ranked tenth among major crude oil exporters to the United States last week, averaging 46,000 barrels per day. EIA data revealed a rise in Iraqi export rates to 46,000 bpd, from 38,000 bpd the previous week, signaling a continued recovery of Iraqi crude shipments to U.S. markets. This follows past declines and stoppages due to regional security tensions and their impact on navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Canada led the list of exporters with 3.926 million barrels per day, followed by Venezuela (599,000 bpd), Saudi Arabia (347,000 bpd), Mexico (297,000 bpd), and Colombia (239,000 bpd). Other significant suppliers included Brazil (sixth, 235,000 bpd), Nigeria (seventh, 232,000 bpd), Argentina (173,000 bpd), and Guyana (ninth, 65,000 bpd).
