The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy issued a warning today, Saturday, urging ships not to approach the Strait of Hormuz, following an earlier announcement of its closure. The naval forces emphasized that the security of vessels would be at risk if this warning is not heeded. Earlier today, Saturday, Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters announced its decision to close the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic. The headquarters attributed this move to what it described as "the United States' breach of its commitments" and its explicit failure to implement the first clause of the memorandum of understanding concerning the termination of the war. The statement also indicated that the closure comes in response to "the continuous and ongoing violations of the ceasefire by the Zionist entity in southern Lebanon, the brutal killing and displacement of hundreds of thousands in that oppressed country, as well as the failure of occupying forces to withdraw from southern Lebanese territories." The headquarters affirmed this measure constitutes "the first response to the enemy's breach of its commitments," warning that should "the aggression" persist, further steps would be planned and taken to compel "the enemy to fulfill its commitments."
