Iranian President: End War Today from Position of Strength
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday urged an immediate end to the conflict with the United States, asserting that Iran currently holds a "position of strength and dignity." During a meeting with doctors in Tehran, Pezeshkian declared, "It is better to stop the war today, as the entire world acknowledges our victory." The President emphasized that "what was achieved during negotiations was a significant accomplishment approved by the Supreme National Security Council," adding that the memorandum of understanding with the U.S. contains no "clause indicating surrender; all commitments relate to the other party." The U.S. and Iran had announced two ceasefire agreements in April and June to restore freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and conclude the conflict, yet these quickly unraveled.
