An Iranian Member of Parliament, Esmaeil Kowsari, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, has acknowledged the surge in prices, inflation, and the worsening economic and living challenges facing the country. He noted that citizens are encountering difficult economic conditions. In press statements, Kowsari stated that "rising prices and inflation exist, but people come out with more vitality every night," asserting simultaneously that Iran possesses the necessary expertise and capability to manage economic issues and even war-related circumstances. Kowsari expressed his shame "before the people" due to the difficult living conditions. Addressing the war, Kowsari admitted that "Iran was harmed during the war," and that "the goal of starting it was to overthrow the regime, which they failed to achieve." These remarks come amid ongoing economic and living pressures in Iran, coinciding with the repercussions of war and recent security and military tensions. The country's exchange and gold markets witnessed a sharp rise in prices on Thursday, alongside a continuous decline in the value of the local currency.
