Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Iraqchi accused Israel of seeking a "permanent war." This came in response to calls by far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who demanded "burning Lebanon completely" following the killing of four Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon. In a post on "X," Iraqchi affirmed that this was "not the talk of a random madman with genocidal tendencies, but a public post by the Israeli regime's Minister of National Security." He added that "the death and annihilation-obsessed sect, headquartered in Tel Aviv, poses a threat to all humanity," considering that "its only interest is permanent war."
