Iranian Foreign Minister: Washington Responsible for Ending Regional Conflict and Lebanon

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, during a phone call with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot, affirmed the United States' responsibility to play an effective role in ending the war and halting hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon. This was stated by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For his part, the French Foreign Minister expressed his country's full support for the diplomatic path and the reached memorandum of understanding, emphasizing the importance of seizing this opportunity to promote sustainable peace, stability, and security in the region. Both sides also stressed the importance of freedom of navigation and the safe movement of ships in accordance with international law in the Strait of Hormuz, considering that maintaining the security and stability of this strategic passage is essential for international peace and trade.
