Technical delegations from Iran and the United States have decided to remain in Switzerland, awaiting a final decision regarding the resumption of negotiations, without having yet commenced work on technical points. A diplomatic source clarified that these delegations are still stationed in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, where all meetings held so far have been limited to organizational aspects only. This development follows the Swiss Foreign Ministry's announcement earlier on Friday that technical talks scheduled between Washington and Tehran for the same day had been cancelled. The cancellation came hours after the White House postponed Vice President J.D. Vance's visit to Switzerland, citing "logistical complexities." A White House spokesperson affirmed that the logistical aspects of such negotiations have never been simple or entirely predictable, expressing the parties' anticipation of commencing technical talks as soon as possible. It is worth noting that Iran and the United States had signed a remote Memorandum of Understanding on the night of June 18, which stipulates an end to the military conflict that began on February 28. The memorandum also includes lifting the naval blockade on Iranian ports, restoring navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and setting a 60-day timetable for negotiations concerning the Iranian nuclear program.
