Ali Akbar Velayati, the advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader for International Affairs, said that US President Donald Trump "has entered a strategic trap," considering that Washington will have to look for what remains of its influence in West Asia.

Velayati said in two posts on the "X" platform that "Trump's sterile diplomacy in Beijing and his return empty-handed from China, in addition to the state of helplessness and anger experienced by Abu Dhabi after the exposure of the news of the secret travel of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to it, and the distorted fabrications of the Pentagon, all reveal a crisis in strategic estimations within Washington," as he put it.

Velayati added that "under such circumstances, Trump's threats, which are ignited by Tel Aviv's inflation, are nothing but 'entering into a strategic trap'."

He said: "Falling into this well with Israel's rope has a heavy price; soon, Washington will have to search with a lantern for the remnants of its status in West Asia."

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces said that the repetition of any follies from Washington to compensate for its failure in the war will lead to a stronger response, pointing out that if Trump executes his threat against us, America's interests and its army will face sudden offensive scenarios.
