Iran Denies Reports of Araghchi Traveling to Switzerland for US Talks

An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, denied reports of Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveling to Switzerland for meetings with American negotiators. Baghaei confirmed Araghchi is currently hosting Pakistan's Interior Minister in Tehran. Baghaei stated that information regarding Araghchi's Switzerland visit is "incorrect," noting, "Minister Araghchi will meet the Pakistani Interior Minister during his visit to the Iranian capital." He added that the Pakistani official's visit aims to advance Islamabad's efforts in bridging views between Washington and Tehran. Earlier, Axios sources reported Araghchi was expected in Switzerland to initiate nuclear talks with Americans, stipulating a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon as a condition for discussions.
