Iran Commends Iraq's Anti-Corruption Efforts and Strengthened Cooperation

The Head of the Iranian Judiciary, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, commended the Iraqi government's measures in combating corruption during a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi in Tehran. The officials discussed strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation, especially in the judicial field, underscoring the judiciary's vital role in supporting stability. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi reiterated Iraq's commitment to fostering robust relations with Iran, expressing his government's readiness for joint cooperation across diverse economic sectors to serve both nations' interests and prosperity. He affirmed Iraq's consistent role as a center for dialogue and regional conflict resolution, emphasizing the need to capitalize on the present opportunity for de-escalation talks. Ejei highlighted the profound religious, historical, and social commonalities between Iraq and Iran, praising Iraq's anti-corruption steps. He affirmed Iran's significant experience in this domain and its readiness to cooperate. The Iranian judicial head also conveyed his gratitude to the Iraqi people for their noble position during the funeral of the late Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei.
