An Iranian official announced that the country's electricity sector infrastructure suffered severe damage as a result of recent strikes. Mohammad Allahdad, head of the state-owned Tavanir electricity company, stated that these attacks led to the loss of approximately 4200 megawatts of the electricity grid's capacity, in addition to damaging over 2000 points within the network. The official clarified that these damages directly impacted the grid's resilience and its ability for rapid recovery, particularly during peak consumption periods. He further noted that the severe heatwave experienced by the country during the summer season adds to the existing pressures on the electricity grid, deepening the challenges faced by authorities in ensuring stable supplies.
