Iran and UAE: Direct Flights to Resume This Week

Majid Akhoan, spokesperson for the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, announced on Saturday that air flights between Iran and the United Arab Emirates are set to resume this week. This declaration follows intensive discussions held between civil aviation officials of both countries, in addition to ongoing diplomatic efforts. Akhoan affirmed that this step is part of efforts to normalize regular air travel with neighboring countries, through direct coordination between the Iranian and Emirati sides. It has been decided that in the initial phase, Iranian airlines will begin operating flights to the UAE, following their nomination and official notification to the Emirati authorities. In a subsequent phase, Emirati airlines will resume their air operations to Iran, after submitting a list of approved carriers from their side. This measure aims to restore bilateral interaction and cooperation in the air transport sector to its normal course, thereby strengthening ties between the two nations.
