Iran Affirms Resilience to US Economic Pressure, Vows Firm Response

A spokesperson for Iran's Interior Ministry affirmed Sunday that the country "will not surrender" to US economic pressure. He stressed Tehran's "long experience confronting sanctions" and vowed a "firm" response. He added Washington had imposed similar pressures five or six times prior, failing to achieve objectives. While sanctions affect Iran, their repercussions won't be limited to the Iranian economy alone, he noted. The spokesperson warned US use of neighboring bases to pressure Tehran and impact its navigation and trade wouldn't restrict it, rejecting Washington's ability to impose a naval blockade for three months or even a year. The Iranian official deemed an absolute blockade impossible, given Iran borders 15 nations, has multiple land borders, Caspian Sea access, hundreds of border markets, and diverse air transport. He concluded such a plan "would quickly fail," emphasizing "Iranian people's resilience will be greater," and the country would overcome the repeated American threat.
