The Head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Mohammed Ali Al-Lamhi, stressed the necessity of developing Arab partnerships to confront corruption, recover funds, and retrieve suspects, revealing that Baghdad has received a number of individuals pursued in financial cases from Cairo. An official statement indicated that Al-Lamhi discussed with the Egyptian Ambassador to the country, Ahmed Hussein Khafaji, the prospects of consolidating joint relations between the two sides and expanding the scope of regulatory coordination. The head of the commission noted the role of joint Arab action in the areas of legal support and the recovery of proceeds resulting from corruption, praising the Egyptian response which resulted in the handover of the convicts. He demanded the necessity of establishing academic cooperation and knowledge exchange between the Iraqi and Egyptian academies based on joint memoranda of understanding to raise the efficiency of regulatory cadres. For his part, the Egyptian diplomat stressed his country's desire to consolidate ties with Baghdad, support regulatory institutions, and facilitate procedures for retrieving wanted persons, indicating that Iraq's security and stability is a fundamental pillar of Egyptian national security.
