The Deputy Minister of Oil for Gas Affairs announced that the volume of processed gas at the Al-Gharraf oil field has increased to 37 million standard cubic feet per day. He stated that the inauguration of the new gas processing and compression system marks the first phase of associated gas investment, enhancing the field's productivity and supporting power plants. He highlighted that the project aims to reduce the environmental impact caused by gas flaring and maximize the utilization of national resources. Appreciation was expressed for the efforts of national staff at the Dhi Qar Oil Company, cooperation with Petronas, and the Italian contractor Flood, as well as the effective roles of engineering, technical, and administrative teams. The ministry confirmed its ongoing support for gas investment projects and infrastructure development for the second phase to increase the benefits from associated gas and strengthen the energy sector in the country. It is noted that the associated gas processing and compression system at the second separation station in Al-Gharraf operates with a capacity ranging between 15 and 22 million standard cubic feet per day, as part of the ministry's efforts to reduce gas flaring and enhance its investment.
