The International Energy Agency (IEA) warned in its report today, Friday, April 24, 2026, that ongoing Middle East tensions and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz could lead to a severe LNG supply shortage of up to 120 billion cubic meters by 2030. The report explained that navigation disruptions in the strait have already decreased production from Qatar and the UAE. There are growing concerns that attacks on energy facilities and delays in expansion projects, such as the "North Field East," will lead to a prolonged supply crisis, driving up prices and hindering global demand growth over the next four years.
