High-Level Iranian Delegation Visits Oman Following Switzerland Talks

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi have departed for the Sultanate of Oman to meet with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The visit aims to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries and coordinate joint efforts to support stability, particularly concerning arrangements for managing the strategic Strait of Hormuz. This trip follows the conclusion of the first round of negotiations between Iran and the United States, which were mediated by Pakistan and Qatar in Switzerland and lasted approximately one and a half days. According to the mediators, the talks resulted in both parties agreeing on a roadmap aimed at reaching a final agreement within sixty days. Despite the departure of senior officials, including the Iranian delegation, to their respective countries, technical negotiations with the United States are scheduled to continue for about a week in Switzerland, with participation from representatives of both sides.
