Government Spokesperson Reveals PM's European Tour to Paris, Berlin and Upcoming Domestic Decisions

Government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi announced on Monday that the Prime Minister is scheduled to undertake a European tour encompassing the French capital Paris and the German capital Berlin during the first half of September. Al-Aboudi also revealed a package of anticipated files and decisions concerning the general budget, the housing sector, the exclusive control of weapons by the state, and employee salaries. Al-Aboudi clarified that "the Prime Minister's planned European tour will include visits to Paris and Berlin in the first half of September," indicating that "the Council of Ministers will vote on the programs and performance budget during the same month." He added that "the Council of Ministers, in its upcoming session tomorrow, will vote on a set of important decisions related to the distribution of one million residential plots to eligible citizens." Regarding the issue of restricting weapons to the state, al-Aboudi affirmed that "September 30 is the fixed date for the complete resolution of this matter," emphasizing that "there is a general agreement on the necessity of preserving national sovereignty, and the state is moving forward with its vision aimed at monopolizing weapons." He noted that "discussions currently underway with factions are proceeding regularly, progressively, and positively, and it is expected that this file will be concluded before the specified date of September 30." Concerning the presence of international coalition forces, the government spokesperson explained that "the Prime Minister had received a request to extend the stay of coalition forces and some advisors, but he declined to approve this request." As for the file of stabilizing contracts and wages, al-Aboudi confirmed that "the Ministry of Finance is currently studying this file," pointing out that "the Ministry is working to complete all procedures related to employee salaries and appreciates their efforts in serving the state." On regional developments, al-Aboudi stated that "the government is closely monitoring developments in the region with great interest and reaffirms its stance against being part of any conflict axes." In the oil sector, he reported that "oil export operations are proceeding regularly at a rate of no less than two million barrels per day." Regarding the Dora incident and the housing file, al-Aboudi clarified that "the relevant bodies held an urgent meeting following the Dora incident to prevent any decisions that would permit violations of laws," asserting that "there is a comprehensive vision for a radical solution to the housing file, including the program for distributing one million residential plots."
