Government Spokesperson Affirms Broad Consensus for Prime Minister's Efforts in State Arms Control and Fighting Corruption

Government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi affirmed on Friday that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi enjoys broad consensus support for his efforts to place arms solely under state control and eradicate avenues of corruption. Al-Aboudi stressed that fundamental institutional reform begins with achieving state sovereignty over weaponry and combating rampant corruption. He clarified that Parliament has granted the government extensive powers to enable it to serve the public interest across various crucial portfolios. He noted the Prime Minister's unanimous support for these objectives, indicating that coordination with Washington focuses on economic and security aspects.
