Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi issued an official directive on Thursday postponing the collection of customs duties and taxes imposed on imported eggs, chicken, and live meat products. The media office of the Prime Minister stated in an official release that this step aims to support the stability of local markets and ensure the availability of these essential food items at affordable prices for all citizens. These measures follow the decision to adjust the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar against the US dollar, based on proposals presented by the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank during the regular session number (544) for the year 2026, setting the final dollar selling rate for citizens and non-banking institutions at 1520 dinars per dollar instead of the previous 1320 dinars.
