Government confirmation of financial commitment to provide monthly salaries amid parliamentary measures

Minister of Finance Faleh Sari affirmed on Thursday his ministry's full commitment to securing and providing employee salaries on a monthly basis, explaining during his hosting at a parliamentary meeting that the government has taken a package of decisions, including allocating a financial sum to support the housing sector. Sari pointed out the increase in the proportion of non-oil revenues within the upcoming budget compared to the previous year. For his part, Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi explained during the same meeting that there were previous alternatives studied by the government, including delaying disbursement dates, noting that the previous exchange rate difference went to speculators, and stressing that the country is facing exceptional circumstances and an undeclared siege. In this context, the parliament witnessed an expanded meeting that included the presidency and heads of blocks with the Prime Minister to discuss political and economic developments and the foreign exchange file following the Central Bank's decision to fix the new selling rate.
