Precious metals consultancy Metals Focus has projected that gold prices will witness new record highs during 2027, driven by investors seeking alternatives to traditional dollar-denominated assets. In its annual report, the company suggested that the average price of gold would reach around 5,330 dollars per ounce during 2027, an increase of nearly 22% compared to current levels, pointing to persistent inflationary pressures, rising US fiscal deficits, and policy uncertainty. On the other hand, it warned that the Federal Reserve's continued tightening of monetary policy to combat inflation could exert pressure on gold prices in the near term.
