Ghalibaf: Iran-China Strategic Relationship Needs No One's Approval

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf affirmed Wednesday that the strategic relationship between Iran and China requires no external approval. His statement followed his reposting of a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson's message on "X." The Chinese message addressed the "Economic D-Day" threatened by the United States against Iran. Beijing's statement firmly rejected sanctions not based on international law or a UN Security Council mandate. It stressed that economic warfare and "maximum pressure" tactics offer no solutions, only escalating tensions, disrupting the global economic and financial order, and harming all interests. China affirmed dialogue and negotiation as the sole correct path, emphasizing its cooperation with Iran complies with international law. Beijing added it monitors the situation closely and will protect its rights and interests. Ghalibaf welcomed "China's principled stance rejecting the illegal sanctions imposed on Iran." He added that "the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China is based on mutual respect, mutually beneficial cooperation, and a shared vision for a multipolar world," reiterating that "this relationship needs no one's approval."
