Dubai Court Orders Nishan to Pay Yasmine Ezz AED 50,000

The Dubai Court ordered Lebanese media personality Nishan to pay 50,000 AED in compensation to Egyptian media personality Yasmine Ezz. This ruling represents a new phase in their ongoing legal dispute, initiated in 2023 after an incident at the Arab Media Forum. The case originated in September 2023. Nishan and Yasmine Ezz were set to participate in a session at the Dubai forum. Nishan proceeded to moderate the session alone due to Ezz's delay, making statements she deemed offensive, which later escalated into a legal conflict. In a prior judicial path in Dubai, the Court of Cassation upheld in March 2025 a final judgment convicting Nishan and fining him 10,000 AED. Additionally, the case saw a development in Egypt. The Economic Court in Cairo ruled in April 2025 for Nishan's one-month imprisonment, with a 5,000 EGP bail for temporary suspension, and ordered him to pay 50,000 EGP as temporary civil compensation. His defense has since appealed this decision.
