Distribution of Social Welfare Funds Begins for Millions of Families

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced, on Monday, the release of the social welfare allowance payment for October 2026 for more than two million and 36 thousand families in Baghdad and the provinces excluding the Kurdistan Region, with a total amount exceeding 435 billion Iraqi dinars. The Head of the Social Protection Authority, Ahmed Al-Moussawi, stated in a statement that the payment included more than one million and 476 thousand families headed by men with a total amount exceeding 352 billion dinars, in addition to more than 559 thousand families headed by women with an amount exceeding 83 billion Iraqi dinars. Al-Moussawi explained that the authority has completed the procedures related to releasing the payment to ensure the smooth disbursement process and the delivery of the allowance amounts to the eligible families, calling on beneficiaries to visit approved disbursement outlets to receive their dues. He emphasized that the authority continues its efforts to secure social allowances for those covered and enhance the level of social protection for the most needy groups within programs aimed at supporting families and improving their living stability.
