Court Orders Mbappé to Pay €60,000 to Paris Saint-Germain

The Paris Court of Appeal has ordered French star Kylian Mbappé, currently a Real Madrid forward, to pay €60,000 to his former club, Paris Saint-Germain. This ruling comes amidst a case involving the freezing of the club's bank accounts. Mbappé's representatives had initiated precautionary seizure measures on Paris Saint-Germain's funds as part of the ongoing legal dispute between both parties concerning the player's financial dues. The seizure, valued at €55 million, was effective from April 10 to May 25, 2025. Paris Saint-Germain informed the court that the freezing of its bank accounts posed a threat to its ability to meet financial obligations towards various sports bodies. The club warned of potential sanctions from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), including restrictions on registering new players. The roots of the case trace back to Mbappé's demand for over €60 million from the Parisian club, encompassing unpaid salaries and bonuses. A labor court had previously ruled last December, ordering Paris Saint-Germain to pay approximately €61 million to the player. Kylian Mbappé departed Paris Saint-Germain to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, following the conclusion of his contract and tenure with the French club.
