Counter-Terrorism Head, Kurdistan Interior Minister Affirm Enhanced Security Cooperation

The Head of the Counter-Terrorism Service, Lieutenant General Zaid Hawshi Al-Musawi, and the Kurdistan Region’s Minister of Interior, Reber Ahmed, affirmed on Thursday the continuation of joint security cooperation and the unification of efforts to respond to challenges. This came during a meeting between Al-Musawi and Ahmed, where they discussed several priority security files between the federal government and the Region. Discussions focused on developing coordination mechanisms, exchanging information and expertise, and enhancing integration between security institutions. These steps aim to confront terrorist challenges and threats, pursue remnants of terrorist groups, and dry up their sources of support. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and unifying efforts to bolster the security agencies' ability to respond to threats and consolidate security and stability across the country.
