The Central Bank issued official directives on Saturday regarding pending merchant transfers, while also announcing preparations to launch cards dedicated to foreign trade. A statement explained that monitoring continues for banking operations conducted before and after the exchange rate adjustment to ensure banks adhere to regulations and protect the rights of clients and merchants. The statement called upon companies and individuals whose transfers for import financing were due for execution before October 7, 2026, to visit their banks and verify completion, noting that bank accounts were previously funded to cover those transfers. This oversight includes tracking any delays and ensuring merchants are not charged exchange rate differences for transfers covered at the former rate. The institution designated official channels to receive complaints in case of delays or requests for extra fees, including the electronic complaints platform and the dedicated email. In a parallel step, efforts are ongoing in coordination with banks and payment companies to issue modern cards assisting small merchants in financing their imports.
