Central Bank announces completion of money transfer requests and securing imports

The Central Bank of Iraq confirmed on Tuesday the completion of fulfilling money transfer requests for imports that were suspended before the exchange rate adjustment dated 7/10/2026, which meet the approved conditions and regulations. In a statement, the Central Bank called on merchants and companies included in these requests to review their banks to ensure the execution of their external transfers, pointing out that in the event of any unjustified delay in executing a transfer or requests for additional amounts contrary to approved regulations, they can submit a complaint via the electronic complaints platform of the Central Bank of Iraq to take necessary measures against violating banks. The Central Bank of Iraq also confirmed its continued monitoring of banks compliance with executing transfers according to valid regulations and instructions, reassuring merchants, companies, and citizens of the continued regular financing of imports and providing foreign currency through banks to cover requests that meet the conditions, contributing to the sustainability of trade movement and ensuring the flow of goods to local markets.
