BRICS Group Warns of Escalating Nuclear Threats, Calls for Peaceful Resolution

The group reiterated commitment to peaceful resolution of international disputes via dialogue and diplomacy, stressing proactive conflict prevention and addressing root causes. The statement also underscored the importance of collective action to maintain smooth global trade, supply chains, and energy flows, advocating a multilateral approach respecting national perspectives on critical issues. BRICS comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, and the UAE. Established in 2009, its members account for over 40% of the global population and nearly a quarter of the world economy. Chinese President Xi Jinping described the bloc as a "leading group" in the Southern Hemisphere, a model for self-reliance among emerging and developing nations fostering innovation-based development.
