Brazilian President: Trump knows I oppose war on Iran genocide in Palestine
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said in an interview with the "Washington Post" newspaper, published Sunday, that his American counterpart Donald Trump knows he opposes the war on Iran and denounces the genocide taking place in the Palestinian territories.
Lula added in the interview that his personal relationship with Trump could help attract American investments to Brazil, prevent the imposition of more customs tariffs and sanctions, and ensure respect for democracy in his country.
Lula said, "Trump knows that I oppose the war on Iran, and I disagree with him regarding his interference in Venezuela, and I denounce the genocide taking place in Palestine."
He added, "But my political differences with Trump do not conflict with my relationship with him as a head of state. What I want is for him to deal with Brazil with respect, and to understand that I am the democratically elected president here."
