Bitcoin prices briefly surpassed eighty-three thousand dollars on Monday, recovering alongside US stock futures following a drop in crude oil prices. The leading digital currency climbed by up to 2.7 percent, hovering near eighty-two thousand seven hundred dollars during early trading ahead of the New York market opening. Smaller digital currencies also advanced, with Ether rising by as much as 4 percent and Solana achieving gains close to 5 percent. Cryptocurrencies joined a cautious improvement in investor risk appetite after crude prices retreated from five-month highs amid signs of steady Middle East supplies since the outbreak of the US conflict against Iran. Brent crude dropped by as much as 2 percent, while the S and P 500 futures index rose by about 0.3 percent, and Nasdaq 100 futures gained 1.1 percent. This sentiment improvement contrasted with Europe, where equities declined at the market open. Macroeconomic shifts helped the leading cryptocurrency recover losses from the previous week, when it fell roughly 3 percent amid a tech-driven selloff sparked by renewed concerns over massive artificial intelligence spending. Damian Low, head of investment at Ericsenz Capital, stated that today's price surge represents a rebound following a week of significant risk aversion, adding that the absence of new developments is a positive sign. He explained that he does not see near-term catalysts pushing the asset to record highs, believing downside risks are greater under current market conditions. Meanwhile, oil prices remain elevated near one hundred and eight dollars per barrel, exceeding levels seen during most of the past week. Institutional demand for the asset also declined for a second consecutive week, as US-listed spot exchange-traded funds recorded net outflows of two hundred and twenty-eight point six million dollars last week, following six hundred and eighty-one million dollars of exits the prior week. The cryptocurrency currently trades within last week's range of eighty thousand to eighty-five thousand dollars, remaining far below its record level above one hundred and twenty-six thousand dollars reached last October. Alex Kuptsikevich, senior market analyst at FxPro, noted in a Monday memo that temporary bottoms in traditional markets often form near the end of October, leading digital asset investors to bet that seasonal trends will work in their favor to recover last week's losses.
