Barcelona defender Eric Garcia sustained a broken nose in an accidental collision with teammate and midfielder Rodri during their match against Valencia in the fourth round of the Spanish League. The incident occurred in the 26th minute when Rodri's hand accidentally struck Garcia's face during a corner kick, causing a nosebleed for the Spanish defender. Garcia was unable to continue the game and was substituted by French player Jules Kounde. Subsequent medical examinations confirmed Garcia suffered a broken nose, though it has not yet been determined whether he will require surgical intervention. Should surgery not be necessary, he might be able to participate in the next match wearing a protective mask. Barcelona secured a decisive 5-0 victory over Valencia last Sunday. Rodri joined Barcelona from Manchester City last August, and his contract with the Catalan club extends until June 30, 2030.
