Baghdad–Basra Passenger Trains Suspended Due to Weather

Iraq’s General Company for Railways announced on Wednesday the suspension of passenger train services between Baghdad and Basra.

The decision was made due to adverse weather conditions affecting the country.

The suspension applies to all trips departing from Baghdad Central Station toward Basra and vice versa.

The measure took effect on March 25, 2026, until further notice.

Authorities confirmed that passengers will be informed once services resume.
