Badr Parliamentary Bloc Denies Division Rumors, Affirms Unity

The Badr parliamentary bloc on Thursday denied reports of internal divisions as baseless. In a statement, MP Hamed Abbas al-Mousawi, the bloc's official spokesperson, affirmed Badr's cohesive membership and unified stance. He stressed its commitment to the principles and approach of the Hadi al-Amiri-led Badr Organization, reinforcing national unity. Al-Mousawi highlighted the bloc's harmonious cooperation with other political entities in the Council of Representatives and its committees. This collaboration aims to enhance the Council's legislative and oversight roles, improving performance to meet Iraqi public aspirations. He clarified that differing views on parliamentary file management are natural, not indicating internal division. Such differences, he explained, reflect members' dedication to improving parliamentary performance and mechanisms. Al-Mousawi called for shielding the Council of Representatives from politicization that impedes its work. He urged an urgent resolution for parliamentary committee administrations, preventing obstruction, especially amid economic and national challenges requiring an active council. The Badr bloc reiterated commitment to supporting the government and state institutions' program implementation. This includes strategic areas: security, sovereignty, arms regulation, economic reform, and combating financial and administrative corruption. Finally, al-Mousawi urged media outlets to ensure accuracy from official sources, avoiding leaks meant to confuse public opinion.
