Bab al-Mandab Records Highest Shipping Traffic Since Mid-July

The Bab al-Mandab Strait witnessed a significant surge in commercial vessel traffic, with preliminary shipping data indicating that 39 commodity ships traversed the strait. This marks the highest tally since July 19. On Wednesday, five vessels crossed the strait, including two crude oil supertankers named "Sophia" and "Ocean Laureate". Detailed figures show that 39 ships crossed the strait yesterday, Tuesday, with 20 vessels entering and 17 departing. Among the departing ships were three crude oil tankers, while two petrochemical carriers were among those entering the strait. It is noted that some vessels may continue sailing after deactivating their transponders. Conversely, transit through the Strait of Hormuz remained restricted. Data revealed that only eight cargo ships crossed Hormuz yesterday, Tuesday, with five entering and three departing. Only one vessel has traversed the Strait of Hormuz so far on Wednesday.
