The Ministry of Trade announced the arrival of six ships at the ports of Aqaba and Latakia carrying shipments of rice, sugar, and legumes as part of the ration supply program. The unloading process is underway, with a portion of the goods allocated to the food basket, while the surplus is stored to strengthen food security stocks. The ministry also confirmed resolving issues related to the supply of tomato paste and securing a large reserve of it. Field inspection teams from the Commercial and Financial Control Department, along with the Organized Crime Department and the Ministry of Health, have intensified monitoring to ensure traders comply with price reductions following the removal of customs tariffs on basic food items. Additionally, the ministry plans to distribute nine complete food baskets instead of eight by preparing an additional basket, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance food security for families.
