Ankara confirms gradual handover of Bashiqa base to Baghdad

The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that the decision to hand over the Bashiqa-Zlikan base to the Iraqi government will be implemented gradually. The ministry stated in an official release that the handover process follows the agreed-upon mechanisms between both parties. It added that this step comes in light of the progress achieved by the Iraqi government in implementing security measures in Sinjar.
