AlSudani to Masrour Barzani necessity moving from resolving pending files to investment
The head of the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, emphasized today, Sunday, the necessity of moving from the stage of addressing pending files to the stage of investment.
Al-Sudani said in a statement: "We discussed with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Masrour Barzani, and his accompanying delegation, the overall relations between Baghdad and Erbil, and ways to enhance mutual understandings in accordance with the constitution, and in a way that supports political and institutional stability, as well as discussing the economic file in light of current regional developments."
He emphasized that "constructive dialogue represents the best path to reach common understandings, and to enhance legislative coordination within the Parliament in order to enact laws supporting the government's work, serving citizens in all parts of the country, and consolidating state authority and political and societal stability."
He pointed out that "the previous government accomplished, in cooperation with the regional government, important files, even though some of them were inherited from previous governments, and despite internal and external challenges and circumstances, stressing the need to transition from the stage of treating pending files to the stage of investing in joint opportunities, which are larger and broader than the existing differences."
He stressed that "the Reconstruction and Development Coalition, through the Coordination Framework, is keen on national constants and respecting the components of the Iraqi people as stipulated in the constitution, indicating that most of the presented files are resolvable, and that administrative problems should not reflect on political relations."
He stressed "the necessity of continuing dialogue to face security and economic challenges, and to deal with the changes witnessed by the region and the world, in a way that achieves the Iraqi interest, supports stability, opens wider horizons for reconstruction and development, and creates opportunities for prosperity for all sons of the Iraqi people."
