AlMaliki setback hit democratic process necessity correcting its path

The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri Al-Maliki, confirmed the existence of a setback that hit the democratic process, stressing the need to correct its path.

Al-Maliki pointed out, in a statement to reporters after his meeting with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, to the depth of the historical relations linking the two sides, noting that the meeting reviewed the nature of the relationship extending to jihadist roots and good, continuous relations.

He indicated that the democratic process suffered a setback during the events that accompanied the recent elections and the voting mechanisms for government candidates.

Al-Maliki emphasized the necessity of working to “correct the path” in which the democratic process was affected, stressing that the visions and ideas between Baghdad and Erbil are identical in this regard.
