Prime Minister Ali Falah al-Zaidi affirmed, today Thursday, proceeding with the weapons monopoly project called for by the Supreme Religious Authority, indicating work on drawing an economic identity for Iraq and moving away from a socialist mentality.

His office stated in a communiqué that al-Zaidi received a group of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries with whom he exchanged congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, affirming that tribes are the backbone of the state and its living history, playing a key role in resolving issues, serving as guardians of values, protectors of civil peace, and the first line of defense for the state.

Al-Zaidi stressed proceeding with the project called for by the Supreme Religious Authority stipulating the restriction of weapons to state authority, indicating that the government wants the state to be the sole entity monopolizing weapons, stressing this is a decision and not a choice.

He added that states rest on three foundations: economic stability, political stability, and security stability, affirming the need to unite in this critical circumstance and work collectively to advance the country.

Al-Zaidi confirmed working on drawing an economic identity for Iraq and moving away from a socialist mentality by attracting global companies to invest, stressing the prevention of weapons proliferation and their use in random shooting and tribal disputes, calling on tribes to play a greater role in preventing any violations targeting the country's security and stability.
