Al-Zaidi Orders Free Residential Land Plots for Citizens Under 'Watan' Initiative
Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi issued a directive today, Saturday, making residential land plots under the "Watan" initiative completely free of charge. The initiative aims to provide one million residential plots, complete with infrastructure, for Iraqi families. A statement from Al-Zaidi's media office confirmed that this directive ensures the total gratuity of residential land plots for all honorable Iraqi families who, including any member of their household, do not own a housing unit or property. An electronic link for registering for these residential plots is set to be launched next October. The statement clarified that over 216,000 residential land plots have already been prepared as a first phase, identified across 15 governorates. Infrastructure development for these lands will commence soon, carried out by volunteer and contributing investors free of charge. The statement emphasized that specialized committees, under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister's office, are working tirelessly day and night to complete this ambitious project, ultimately preparing the full one million targeted residential plots.
