Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi laid the foundation stone on Monday, announcing the launch of the Watan Initiative for one million residential plots in Nineveh Governorate, with an initial allocation of one hundred and ten thousand plots. Al-Zaidi also announced issuing an official invitation to specialized international companies in airport management and operation to invest in Mosul International Airport and upgrade its services to match Nineveh's great history. This came during Al-Zaidi's visit to the city of Mosul to launch the executive works for the million residential land plots project and to monitor service and developmental projects, including Mosul International Airport. He pointed out the civilizational importance of Mosul as a prominent facade of Iraq, emphasizing the government's serious pursuit to complete vital projects for the governorate, meeting the requirements and service and economic needs of its people. The Prime Minister stated that Mosul Airport is not just a service project, but an important window for the governorate and Iraq in general, especially after the decision to return Nineveh to the aviation and investment map, stressing that the government wants incoming companies to be important partners that make Mosul Airport a major service landmark.
