Al-Sudani Affirms Iraq's Continued Support and Cooperation with Lebanon

Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's commitment to supporting Lebanon and enhancing joint cooperation for mutual interests. This came during Al-Sudani's reception of Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, yesterday Monday Baghdad time, at his New York City residence. A statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office indicated the meeting occurred on the sidelines of Al-Sudani's participation in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. Both sides discussed bilateral relations, their strengthening across various fields, especially economic and commercial. The Prime Minister emphasized the deep fraternal and historical ties, reiterating Baghdad's continuous support for Beirut and promoting bilateral cooperation. Discussions also covered regional developments and circumstances, with both sides stressing the importance of coordinating efforts to find solutions ensuring regional security and stability, fostering de-escalation and conflict cessation.
